    heartbreaking photo…..my heart really goes out to you. The bond between us and them is something animal lovers just don't get, but it's a truth- and so beautifully expressed in this photo - that they are members of our families.
    Our dog is now 12 years old, and I can't bear to think about life without him.

    2 things: yes, that is me :) 2. he was the one mauling me with LICKING until the camera came out... and actually, he LOVES to be snuggled on but his expression is like this a lot lately, it is merely tiredness, from the cancer. his eyes are losing a bit of their spark it seems. but he is happy and content and not in pain, so we take it day by day.

    and i wish i were brave. but not a day has passed that i don't shed tears. i have yet to figure out how i will sleep at night without his sleeping body by my side...
