he ain't heavy, he's my brother
(pentax k1000, kodak max 800, film)
he ain't heavy, he's my brother
his welfare is my concern
no burden is he to bear
we'll get there
all i know - he would not encumber me...
and the love doesn't weigh me down at all...
he ain't heavy, he's my brother

is that sweet pup a friend of yours?
ReplyDeletethat is my boy, Ransom. he has been with me for 7.5 years and is in the last stages of lymphoma, an aggressive cancer. he is doing fine right now and is in no pain, but the tumors are "huge" (words of the vet yesterday and it's obvious) and the cancer has pretty much spread everywhere. he is a mystery- we expected him to live maybe 4 months and it's been 8 since diagnosis.
ReplyDeletehe is my rock, my buddy, my Boober Doozer- (he affectionately is called "Boob" cuz he's a big boob!). he is the first dog of my adult life and saw me through the darkest period in my life (divorce, death of my mother). i don't know how i will do this without him, but i do know my life is all the better because of him. he is nothing but love and that is what he came here for...
Oh! Coincidentally, my bulldog had lymphoma too! I wonder if it's common with the breed?
ReplyDeleteHugs to you and handsome Ransom...always.
xoxo
