6. Elementary school, our town
7. Mepkin Abbey, South Carolina

interestingly, as much as this effect is fun to play around with, each of these photos were favorites before i tried this tilt-shift effect and i'm sure i prefer them in their original form. but, this does have its own appeal. i am such a "straight out of the camera girl" that i have a tough time with any post processing i guess!

(and elisabelle, for you i have put up the first one with its original)... :O)

  2. This post makes me sigh! I wish I could be a a "straight out of the camera girl". It is so classic! I will definitely improve my shooting skills and try to be independent from PS. ;)

  3. Ah, I know what you mean. The tilt-shift effect is fun to play around with, but in the end, I too prefer the original photos. There is something to be said for the immediacy of an image just as it is.

  4. Wow! I don't know anything about cameras but what I did find interesting was the way my eye fell on overall composition of the picture but then after scanning it for a moment or two, learnt how you had chosen what the focal point for me. This kinda gave me two readings of the image, if you know what I mean. It would be an interesting line of inquiry to pursue, don't you think?

  8. The effect adds some surrealism to all the pics, but I understand what you mean about sticking with the original. I do like the bridge lights very much though...
